Hi,
Hoping for some reassurance from more experienced hatchers.
I set 14 of our CL/Hybrid eggs in my Brinsea Maxi 2 Eco. Temp has been 37.5c throughout and followed humidity guides on the instructions. Over the first two 2 weeks we lost 4 eggs, but went into lockdown early (Day 16) with 10 healthy, well grown chicks with nice air cells.
We went into lockdown early because they had started wiggling and I thought better safe than sorry. We're now day 19 (I got my days muddled) and they're all still wiggling away but because I've been watching like a hawk since they started moving, I'm now starting to feel like they'll never hatch! Even though I realised an hour ago it's only day 19.
Can someone give me some reassurance? Temp is 37.5c and humidity is 65%.

Thanks guys x

I should say I suffer with bad anxiety, so the wait has killed me and I've pretty much convinced myself I've killed them all (though I've had no incubation issues and followed all the rules).

Everything sounds right! I know it’s hard to wait, but you just have to! Also in the future, don’t put them on lockdown when you see them wiggling in their egg. They can wiggle as early as day 8 but they aren’t ready to go on lockdown yet! You put them on lockdown on day 16, which is fine, but not necessary! Just to be clear, you did NOTHING WRONG!! If you have anymore questions just LMK

If they are wiggling then they are still alive! Try to go out and do some things and just keep your mind occupied. Remember that the more you mess with them, the more chances something will go wrong. Keeping hands off is always better!

Thank you both so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it 😊

You could play chicks chirping to them from your phone. When they pip internally, they begin to breath air and start to absorb the yolk and develop their lungs. They will chirp back from the shell.

No problem!!! And just remember, you are doing AMAZING!
Hi,
It's Day 20 now and they're not moving anymore. I've spent ten minutes watching and can't see anything.
Temp has been constant, humidity shot up to 70% briefly because I spilled some water when refilling the tanks, but came back down quickly.

Should I check them or keep waiting?
Thank you x

Saying that, I have just hear one peeping!

What ever you do... don't open or check, just let it ride for the next 24-48. They will be fine without your interference. Sit on your hands lol... I know, it is hard 😬😬😬

Mine always seem to start hatching at night, take a 24 hour break and then start hatching at night again. Just don't open till you are sure ALL are done. They absorb the yoke so they are not going to die of starvation.
I have a broody due and I hope to wake up to see some faces tomorrow morning! :ya
