I have a very old styrofoam incubator and I have misplaced the instructions. So I am not sure where the temp needs to be for chicken eggs and when do I want to start putting them in the incubator, because right now I only have one egg.

First, collect all the eggs until you have enough to incubate. When you store them while collecting, store them in egg cartons, large end up. Keep them in a coolish area, but NOT a fridge--about 60 F is good. Best procedure is to put the egg carton on a 45 degree angle, and rotate twice a day until you start incubating. When you have enough eggs, turn on the incubator and let it warm up for a few hours to 99.5F. Keep it going so the temp is constant. Then add eggs.

Dont forget humidity. Its your call on that, there are many opinions from dry hatching to 55 percent. I usually keep mine at 45 to 55. Tried dry hatching and it didnt work very well for me.
Good luck!
