Need to end egg eating.........

Okay, we had some egg eating and it has overnight turned into a massive problem. I have 24 chickens, some are newly bought and I don't believe are the culprits as they are rarely in the coop and I especially don't want them to learn to eat eggs.

How do I nip this in the bud and get the correct culprits without getting a chicken cam for my coop?

I was thinking of putting an egg into a different coop I have and putting the chickens in there one by one and see who goes for it, and culling all those that do.

Does this sound like a plan?

Yes, it does. You could probably use a golf ball to get the same results though. Just sit back in the coop with a can of spray paint and paint the butt of whomever is pecking eggs/golf balls.
