Hello...we returned from vacation a few days ago to find my d'uccle rooster lethargic, not interested in eating and with runny white and dark green poop. I checked for mites and lice and saw nothing. I tried to get him into the vet today but they can't see us until tomorrow. So far I've been giving him water with ACV mixed in (with a dropper although I have seen him drink on his own once) and I've been giving him mash (crumbles mixed with water and yogurt). I've also given him scrambled egg. He was eating somewhat yesterday with a little coaxing but today he seems to be even more lethargic.
I am having my husband pick up Tylan and Corid on the way home from a trip (we don't have a feed supply near us in the city) b/c I figured I should have both on hand anyway. I feel like I need to try something tonight as I am afraid he won't make it if I don't. Would you suggest I give him the Corid first or the Tylan? Or can you give both to cover all the bases?
I should also mention that I did use Valbazen as a dewormer Saturday night. We had tapeworms with some of my hens but I never treated him as he never showed signs. He is also a cross beak and can't really pick up worms and other bugs which is where tapeworms generally come from so I really didn't think that was an issue.
Anyway, sorry for the long post but I need advice on what to do next. I would appreciate any advice you have. I will try to get him to the vet tomorrow if he makes it through the night.
Thank you!
Claire
