Hello feather parents, I have two 8-9 week chickens that I had since they were a day old. However, one of them, "Pengiun" our olive egger started crowing this morning and I now have to consider removing or donating him for meat. If I do this, my white boiling ball would be by herself so I am not sure how I can keep her without her stressing being by herself. I have little 5 weeks but she is quite big due to being a meat chicken so I wouldn't consider moving them in with her. I live in the city where the local crackheads would go off at me and my 6y old talking whilst watering the garden (we weren't talking loudly or anything) so a crowing cockereal will not be accepted to stay 🥲 Is there a possible solution without needing to find another pullet to replace out (not little anymore) Penguin? I already have 6 chicks and I want to avoid getting more chickens.

I know we could just get rid of our meat chicken too but we love her and want to keep her, plus my son will kill me if we did 😄 so that option is already considered .

I wouldn't expect integrating one 8 week old broiler chick with multiple 5 week olds to be very difficult. They'll be small and fast enough to keep out of her way, but not so much smaller that they're very likely to get injured.

Are they all still in an indoor brooder?
