Needing ideas

Looking for any and all ideas on what I can do with a plastic water softener container. I have two that were given to me. I'm thinking of collecting rain water or even a compost bin.

rain water would work, but a compost bin has to have LOTS of air holes.

Cut them in half and you can grow potatoes, carrot, sweet potato, onions or anything else in them.
