Needing some advice

So a coyote got my African male gander and i received a new one just yesterday but there is an age difference between my female and male my new male is a year and a half while my females are 6 months old. Will my females take to my new male because the problem i run into is he follows them and they walk him into a big chicken lot and ditch him the first chance they get and apparently he is afraid of doorways and i have a rough time getting him to get out. They are all of the African breed. I am fully aware that they know he is not the original male gander. I have pics of my first gander and pics of my new gander with them. Any help would be appreciated

It will take time for your females to accept him as one of theirs. Just give them and him time. As for being afraid of doorways that could also be that he doesn't know his way around yet. Geese don't like change so this could be his problem. You could try working on that by letting him get into this area and then offer some kind of treat to help him gain confidence to get out on his own. Whole corn is a good training treat for geese.

Thank you they are spoiled rotten. I will definitely try to see if he will get more comfortable with doorways. I am still heartbroken over my first one he is definitely one of a kind.

Did the coyote come right up to your home and snatch him? I can't imagine how heart breaking that would be. Thankfully mine are fenced in to half acre we do have coyotes and It just makes me feel a whole lot better knowing there is at least fencing there.

I recently lost chickens to an unknown animal. I would give him a small pen inside the pen to get introduced for a week. Then open it for a day and let him walk around the pen with them. Keep him in it for atleast two weeks and then you should be fine.

Hi my name is kia and I found a baby Canadian geese 2 months ago and he is starting to get his adult feathers now. I am feeding him feed, lettuce, spinach, fruit and worms occassionally. He is mainly outdoors, but yesterday and today he has not been really eating and wobbling, very week can someone tell me what may be going on.

Sounds like he may need some Niacin what is the feed your using? is it for water fowl or chickens? Niacin deficiency can cause them to have lameness and wobbly.

A niacin deficiency can kill them if not taken care of.

Just so happened that night i didnt pin them up i know in my heart he was protecting the girls. He was always protective of them just the other night the geese and chickens were making a ruckus my mother in law went to check with a broom stick and tappped it snd he somehow made it in the chicken house and ran out luckily the geese were pinned up and chickens were on the porch

Possums and racoons and chicken vulchers are also notorious for taking livestock as well I live in West Virginia so we have black bears coyotes etc
