I have a small flock & so does my neighbor. He has wayyyyy more birds than I do. They have approx 10 large birds in a coop, and approx 20 bantams in a chain link dog run with only a small shade structure. Last week, they went on vacation and asked my teenage son to feed & water for them while they were away, one of their waterers shattered, so we got them a plastic tub from our garage for water and set it in the shade for them. The neighbors came back on Friday & removed the tub, replaced it with a small waterer that is clearly super dirty & in the sun.
Now it's Sunday & it's near empty, in full sun and their birds haven't been let out since. It doesn't look like they are home this weekend. My question is, should I send my son over there to clean the waterer and place it in the shade, & make sure they have food , or let it be? I don't want to overstep my boundaries but it seems the birds are neglected.
