When I hear chicken people say they don't know how to deal with a neighbor who cares more about their dogs being able to roam, come on YOUR property, kill YOUR poultry, cause you frustration, and anxiety, I feel for you, but wondering why you think your the one who has to figure out all these ways to keep the dogs off your property and away from your birds. As I have posted before, my neighbor down the road let their dogs roam and got after my chickens. I went up and told them and they said I needed to build a bigger pen. Well, that's just not how it works in South Texas. I gave them fair warning and if/when it happens again, the dogs will be disposed of. Period. franko

Dogs that roam onto my property end up with an AR-15 in the head. Sorry to be so blunt but thats the way it is here in Tennessee.
I will not tolerate someones ignorance taking something of mine. I have alot of time and money invested. Famous words from me, "I last saw your dogs chasing my chickens through the woods, I hope they will be ok". I am cold and heartless when it comes to this issue.

You can shoot but not shoot to kill but shoot to train. If you have a shotgun, load it with salt shot. The salt will sting like mad and hurt a lot but it won't mortally injure the dog. However, the dog is a smart breed and won't want to get shot again. At best, the dog won't return to your property. At the worst, if he returns and hears the cartridge being loaded into the shotgun, he will leave in a big hurry.

I have both turkeys and dogs and would wish anyone who was bothered by my dog would try this technique before killing him.
