nest boxes for quail ?

I hatched out 13 quail .. they will be 8 weeks old on the 22nd of August.. today I collected 8 eggs from them.. Now I need to know if there is some sort of a nesting box design I could build so they all lay in the same place ?

any suggestions ? advice ??

Some use a box, some don't. I have hens that will use the far back corner of the box, but many hens just drop them whereever.

My Button Quail wont even lay on an egg let alone lay in a nesting box.. however I have one that likes to lay in this small cover area I made for them but I think she's a fluke quail cuz she even adopted babies I just hatched out last week like they were her's... even stopped laying eggs! but the others, I give up on trying to treat them like Chickens!

well, so far it doesn't sound too promising..

I thought that just an upsid down box with an entrance hole would give them a dark place to lay.. I know a lot of birds prefer a set up like that..

I have coturnix quail now.. a few years ago I had button quail..

most of the eggs today were in one sort of hollowed out nest.. this is the first day for eggs.

I am going to give it a try and see if they will be good little birds..

A plain ol box of sand will have a lot of eggs laid in it.... Bill
