Nest boxes - inside or out?

Quote:
Just a flap that opens from the outside, allowing you to reach through the wall into the nestboxes. Obviously it needs secure raccoonproof latches, and in your climate also weatherstripping; and it's smart to put flashing above it to keep water running down the side of the coop from seeping into the nestbox; but you need all those for an exterior nestbox, too.

Does that help any?

Have you considered dropping boards under your roosts???? Other than in cold winter weather/snowy times when they stay inside quite a bit, there is almost never any poop inside my coop on the floor, so walking through poop to get to the nest boxes is a non-issue. And in winter time, I spot clean bedding daily, so the bedding stays pretty clean.
