Hello,
I have six young birds, 12 -14 weeks, not ready to lay yet however I built a nest box for them. Instead of dividing it into two boxes, I made it one somewhat larger one; 12"deep x 24" long x 14" high. The birds themselves are medium sized, the biggest one will be the BO I suspect although she's not any bigger than the NHR at 12 weeks. The other large one will be the Speckles Sussex. I have an Austrolorp cross, she's actually quite small.
Do you think that this will suffice for a nest box or should I put some kind of divider in it? I know the recommendation is one box for every 4 or 5 birds but thought that this might work.
Thanks.
Mary
