I am at work, no pictures. Milk crates, litter boxes, rubbermaid, anything like that, or good old fashioned wood.

I use kitty litter boxes, but only because they were free. I have two in my coop. One is the favorite nest box and two chicken will squeeze into it together if it is already occupied. Only after it is full does one move to the next box. They work great and are easy to clean out.

There are more pictures on my BYC page.

Coca-cola crates (plastic) work great also. You can usually find some behind a convenient store or grocery store. My husband works at coca-cola so we have several. We have 5 hens and have two nest boxes but they all use the same one.

They do work great, but it's illegal to take Coca-Cola, milk or bread crates from behind any store. They are property of the company whose name is on them.
They lose millions of dollars a year because of theft, so not a great idea.

One thing that I found made great nest boxes were buckets, usually 5 gallon variety.
