Nest boxes

My ladies love to scrunch into two nest boxes to sleep. Now they aren't laying yet, maybe in 6 -8 weeks or so... Do I need to cover the boxes so they sleep somewhere else and then when they start laying I open them back up?????

Is their roost pole lower than the nest boxes? If so, I'd make an effort to change that or they may go right back to sleeping in the boxes once you open them.
