Nest boxes

I'm planning to build new coop as soon as our snow is gone. I have my plan written down as to coop a run size. My question is roughly what size do I need to build the nest boxes? Thanks

The nest boxes in my coops are about 12''X12''. Here's a picture:

Edit: If you have a large breed such as buckeyes, brahmas, or jersey giants, you might want to make them a little bigger

16"x16", with a 4" lip in front to keep bedding in.
