My future coop backs into a huge pine forest. The future run may have pine needles in it. Are they dangerous for chickens?

I have tons of pine needles too. Can you use it for bedding or on the coop floor?

They are not all that absorbent for all the poop the birds produce. They can be ok around the run, but I don't recommend them in the coop. Some people use them in the nest boxes however.

I purchased the plastic stacking bins. I read a lot of people use them and they should be plenty big enough. My chicks are not ready for the coop yet to use them, so I really cannot say they work yet.
This is similar to the ones I bought. I plan on using hooks to mount them for easy on and off for cleaning.

How did these baskets work for you? I was thinking about using something similar
