Nest location

I never planned on having chicks, but I have a broody hen sitting on 7 eggs. The nest is about 2 feet off the ground. Should I move her and the nest box? I can't imagine how chicks would make it to the ground.

I have only had a rooster for 4 months. I'm sure they could be fertile .

You could try putting lots of padding under the nest entrance, so it won't hurt the chicks to fall out, and offering them another nest to sleep in when they come back for the night.
