That's cute! I have a rubbermaid tub that I cut a hole in the lid and put sideways in their pen. I had intended it for a shelter foe the ducks and they do like to go into it. I imagine this will do for a nesting box? Also, when your ducklings hatch, do you have to remove them from the pen or are they okay in there with the other ducks?

I wish I had a picture of our old Runners' nesting boxes. We used these old cardboard crate things. They were cut sort of like those triangle kitty litter boxes. They still had 4 corners but the saides slope down to the front so they were low in the front. We lined them all up against the wall and sure enough, we found eggs in them all the time!

Not sure this would be my first hatch..There are only 4 others in there with the girls they are 12 weeks 3 are girls 1 a boy..If the girls dont fight over the babies I think it will be fine they are so protective over the eggs I can only imagine how good they will be to the babies..I will play it by ear...

We used a rubbermaid tote turned on it's side. Not only did the girls not use it, but made a nest next to it and one of the girls got herself stuck between the tote and wall and died from being scared. We have a dirt floor and the duck just prefer digging their own nests in the corners of the coop and we give them straw.

Broody Runners Michaela and Bolt in 1 nest.
