nesting box size?

I was thinking of one with that was 1 1/2 foot X 1 foot...... and I'm talking about the bottom part of it. The part the hen sits in.


does that make since? and is that big enough?

Are you getting Standard or Bantam sized chickens?

Those dimensions should work fine for either one. If your getting a heavier breed, you may want to go with 1 1/2' by 14".

Standard as of now.... but who knows what the future holds holds so I think I'll go one and do the 14"

I have some of the heavy breeds and that is the size I am going to build for ours, sounds good.

I just use milk crates and the guy I bought hens from had them in milk crates too they love it
