I purchased this coop from tractor supply. We are currently enclosing a 14x16ft area around the coop. My pullets strange from 3-5 months old and we have gotten no eggs. Should I add a top to the nesting boxes? Any other suggestions? Too much shavings under those bars?

Depending on the breeds of your pullets, some will take longer than others to lay. If you add a top for their nesting boxes, make sure it is big enough that they will be able to get inside as adults.

Thank you. I have easter egger, California white and rhode island reds.. I may just leave as is for a bit.

You have enough nesting boxes, some of your pullets are just too young to lay. Most start from 5 months. If those are roosts on the floor, they should ideally be above the nest boxes.

They are about 2 inches high and there is a tray underneath.. with the pine shavings it makes it seem like it’s on the floor.. I thought about removing the pine shavings from the tray and adding a layer of pdz
