Nesting Boxes

PS. They can have a hundred boxes to choose from, and they all will want the same specific box. They will moan and groan, complain and holler until it’s empty. Some times they get fed up enough to just pile into the box with the slow poke.

Share is a fairly loose term. 1 box for 4-5 egg layers is sufficient. If you put a single box per hen, depending on how many you have, they’d probably only use one.
The above works. We have six hens with two boxes and they usually prefer the same box where they have found a previous hen has left her egg. They will also sometimes get into a box with another hen and spend some quality time with the other layer while getting down to business. I have a camera on my nesting boxes so I see this quite often! :frow

31 birds. About 20 currently laying. 7 boxes. They consistently use three. Every couple days, they will use a fourth. More likely, they use the ground. (I have some new mamas). and some ducks, who will only use the ground. Stupid Pekins.
