nesting boxes

is a nesting box that is 12 high and 9-1/2 wide to small (4 boxes total)? I had intended on making them 12x12 but messed up on measurments!!! I have 2 RIR, 2 Brahams, 2 NJ Giants, 2 Wyandottes and 2 Astrolorps.

I checked out your site and that is a really great set-up. Love the shape of the hog pen and the way you framed the run to match. Very nice.

I'm new and haven't gotten my girls out yet but from what I've read from this site, is the chickens often times will use just 1 nest box. They will actually line up and wait their turn for the prefered box.

Are you able to take the partition out between two of them, so you have one bigger one so they can choose the one they like?

that is a good idea. I think I will take one out, that way they can have 1 big or 2 small boxes....
