nesting boxes

Hi, can someone tell me how high my nesting boxes should be off the floor of my coop? I built a coop out of a shed that sits low to the ground and I would like to raise the boxes up some so I dont have to bend over as far to collect the eggs. The boxes I'm building will open from the outside of the coop. Thanks for your help

There is really no hard and fast rule about how high the nest boxes should be raised - but it's important they be lower than your roosts. My nest boxes start about 18" above the coop floor.
