Do geese need to be able to nest directly in contact with the ground?. I have two shelter sheds, one with a timber floor and the other without a floor. Mother goose has decided to build a nest in the shed with a floor, so her eggs sit directly on the floor rather than on the soil (they seem to line the very bottom of the nest with down when sitting).

Provided with enough bedding, she will build a nest.
