I've read how ducks usually don't use nesting boxes and usually just make a nest in the corner in the shavings/hay. But....I use sand for bedding. Should I make a little "nesting corner" for them that has some sort of better nesting material in it? Also, when will my ducks start laying? (1 Pekin 4 Buffs)

What I did was put shavings in the corner and make a whole in the middle and it should work grate for laying eggs

My ducks almost always lay in their nesting boxes. I use nest pads because they keep the area and the eggs sooooo clean. I haven't had a Pekin since I was a child, but I have had Orpingtons. They did their laying in nest boxes 100% of the time.

When ducks start laying isn't predictable, but it's usually between 20-26 weeks.
