Is it normal for chickens to share nest and yes there are plenty of nests for all chickens

Yes!! I used to have this problem and got several broken eggs for my trouble. I built new, smaller boxes for them so only one hen can fit in at a time. However - they still will fuss if someone is in 'their' nestbox

Yes, it's normal. You can put 5 identical nest boxes in the coop and they'll pick a favourite one that they'll all want to lay in.
