netting over run

can I use garden netting over run?

If by garden netting, you mean "bird" netting.....sure. Thats what I use...however, if you have large predators, coons possum....they can tear right through that stuff.

I've used the garden netting for over 5 years and never had a problem. I had a hawk come down last week to scoop up one of my girls and he got caught in the netting for over 5 minutes. It never ripped I doubled checked it to make sure. So far I've not had a problem with the raccoons or possums getting past it. But I do keep a trap set at all times maybe thats why.

would racoons climb to top of fence? (if it were a 5 or 6ft fence?

Yes !! The racoons here climb in the trees and try to get into my 8 ft. dog run to get dog food.

I have an enclosed top on my chicken run. Made from the same chicken wire from the sides of the run. Dh made a door on top that swings up so i can get a rake in there to clean, and put extra water.
