Netting question

I just built a new run with dog kennel sections. I have never used netting before and wondered what everyone does with it in the winter to keep snow from piling up on it. Any advise would be great. I haven't bought any netting yet waiting for ideas first. Thanks Will

Just give it a little snap and it falls right off.

I know this is a dumb question, but why is netting important? Is it just to keep chickens from flying out? I dont imagine that it keeps predators out???? My dog run has no netting on top. I lock them up in a smaller enclosed run/house at night but I dont know if I'm taking some sort of chance during the day by not having the run totaly enclosed.

It keeps your birds inside and helps keep flying predators from flying in.A coon could easily rip threw it,but it will slow them down a little.Hopefully just slow enought that you can reach for your gun.
