Ducks are extremely messy love to play in their water which makes it difficult to keep them with chickens since the food and bedding will stay wet, if you put food and water inside the coop. But some people do it so maybe worth trying. It didn't work here plus my Scovy's have an attitude about their chicken neighbors they can live in close proximity but not in their faces. So 2 different house for mine. here is an excellent link to caring for ducklings https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/750869/raising-and-caring-for-ducklings#post_10611711

#1 thing? they are MESSY and i don't mean, opps a little more dirty, i mean full on, to the max MESSY in comparison to chickens. This is a common realization, it's not to say they are not worth it but it's the biggest adjustment one that people tend to underestimate.

I started with ducks moved to chickens, then i got why people said, ducks are so messy, chickens are a breeze, their like a comparing cooking a microwave meal to a 4 course dinner.
