They are 2 1/2 months old and have me stumped! The breeds I usually raise are so easy to tell!
Oh and when do they typically start crowing?
ok this one is EE/Polish

This one is EE, I called it the laced one

This is called the black one:

and this one is the orange one:

I think all three are cockerels.

The first one is the only one I'm not sure on. Comb looks roo-ish to me, but I can see the hackle and saddle feathers enough to be sure. On #2 the tail looks WAY roo-ish, and on #3, the red in the wings is a sure male sign.

They are all boys. What a bummer.

EE's are my all time favorite, especially the eggs.

I thought they were all boys, but then I was told that EE's can be hard to judge. what confuses me is the combs are all diff sizes!
Even the polish? :( I really want the polish to not be a boy!

Anyone else? any hope? I got these eggs to hatch so I could introduce a girl and get cool eggs and hatch em!

that would make this the worst hatch EVER! 1 girl out of 9 eggs!!!!

The only one i would question is the last one... i'm no expert though. From the picture, it doesn't appear to have saddle feathers like my neighbor's EE Rooster.

Good Luck! Hope you get your green eggs!

I think their ALL roos :( Keep an eye on the last one though because the red on the wings as far as I know is not quite %100 accurate (more like %90) And it doesnt look like the colours only on the wings. Sorry about you hatch

I'm new at this, but I can tell you that one of my EE roosters started crowing at about 10 weeks, but the other three have not crowed (at least that I have seen) and they are now about 13 weeks.

I had one that I kept hoping was a girl because she didn't have the pointy hackle or saddle feathers, but she started developing them this week.
