I have 3 RIR hens that will be 3 years old in June, and 6 Isa Browns that will be a year old in June.

I've never wormed them. As far as I know, they don't have worms -- no signs of any health problems to my knowledge.

But I think that many people give chickens a routine worming every year, right?

Should I worm them, and if so, when and with what product?

TIA.

Some people worm routinely as often as four times a year, and some never worm. You might want to take a poop sample or two to your vet for an exam.

It doesn't hurt to worm them every once in a while. The problems with worms is that by the time you can see worms in the poop, it's often to late for the chicken. I use Wazine, and then I follow up about 2 weeks later with Ivermectin.

I just had my local Co op send in a poop sample and it showed early signs of roundworm. I bought Wazine and will add it to their water tomorrow morning. Any advice would be welcome.

I worm Once a year regardless, keeps me from having to make a post like OMG my chickens have worms what do I do LOL.

The dosage is one ounce per gallon of water. Put it out for your chickens in the morning, first thing before you let them out. They are normally thirsty and will get a drink when they are first let out in the mornings. It must be there sole source of water to drink for 24 hours. Discard after 24 hours and provide them with regular freshwater. There's a 14 day withdrawal period.
Wazine only gets rid of large roundworms. I recommend that in 10 days you reworm them with a more broad spectrum wormer to kill roundworms that the wazine missed as well as other types of worms.

When useing Ivecmctin<sp> are the eggs safe to eat?
