(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have neighbors with chickens but never thought I'd have any. We have had 1 for about a week now. My daughter's class had a farewell party at a park; there was a chicken following the kids around the whole time. It was very upset when ignored or left alone. It seemed very little to me, and I didn't want to just leave it in the park for the coyotes to snack on, so I brought it home. My neighbors didn't want it; we checked around to see if anyone was missing it, but so far no response, so I think it is ours now!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Just the 1 - should we get another one though???
(3) What breeds do you have?
Golden Sebright Bantam
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
not sure yet...
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
fishing, reading, gardening, sports... keeping up with my kids!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have 7 kids, plus a husband, 2 dogs & a cat.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
