Good morning! I thought I had found a great starter coop in Costco (in NorCal)...It held 2 chickens and was $169. Sadly it would not fit in my car to bring it back to Vegas. So, needless to say, I am now looking for a coop. Where do you suggest getting one?
Thanks!

Welcome to our forum!

Most people here build their own. The ones for sale are often too small and, honestly, aren't suitable for a hot climate, anyway. They need open air, breeze, and shade in the heat. Those little coops (which usually hold about half the number they say, in a cooler climate) are just how boxes in the desert. Chickens are much more cold than heat tolerant, and can die at 100 degrees, especially without shade and breeze. Here is a thread to give you an idea of what works in the desert, or even cooler but still warm climates:

Lots of folks have learrned they can mamage the basic of building because they wanted chickens and you can't buy what is needed! If that's out of the question, perhaps you can find a local handyman type who could do it. My son would be glad to, lol....
