I'm having trouble finding the breeds I'm looking for in my area and I'm considering an incubator. Is there a thread anywhere that is for dummies? I'm seeing incubators ranging from $50-$500, what's the difference? Where do I start that's on the lower end of cost but not garbage? Where do you get your fertilized eggs? I'd appreciate any help.

You'll probably want to start with @Sally Sunshine 's post. It's right below yours. There's wide variety of incubators out there, best to look at the reviews section and narrow your search. I personally like Brinsea products--but that's just me.

What breeds are you looking for?
As for incubators what are you willing to spend? How many eggs are you looking to incubate? Foam incubators are a easy and cheap incubator.

Depending on the breeds you are looking for you may find some local or have to have eggs shipped to you. Shipped eggs often get roughed up traveling so you may not have a great hatch rate.
