Ok. I have owned my new still air GQF incubator since the beginning of April. I understand that eggs from eBay is not the best in the world but I just learned this. I ordered 21 auracauna bantam eggs and 3 peacock eggs. I set them and it seems as if they were doing fine. Well they never hatched. I then went to a friend here about 5 miles away and received 18 old English black, white, and blue. I thought well these are real good birds and I just watched her collect them and there is plenty of Roos in there. These eggs should be awesome.
I kept my temperature between 98 and 100.5. It seemed to jump around a little but never dropped below 98 and never went over 100.5.
The humidity is something I am worried about. I filled up the plastic tray when setting the eggs and by the time 21 days hit there was still almost as much water as I put in to begin with. The humidy was at a constant 40%. No matter what I did I could not get it over 42%. I even put a soaked towel in there.
What is wrong??????
I spoke with a friend that has the new GQF cabinet incubated and he told me that he had to add a gallon of water everyday.
What is wrong with my incubator.
On the last setting of eggs, I threw them out this morning. It was day 25. Almost all that we're good had babies in there but they never made it out. One hatched on day 21 and it died two hours after. There were 2 other pipped but nothing more.
Please help me so I don't waist anymore money. I have no idea what is wrong.
