My son and I have owned chickens for quite a while now ( around 10yrs. ) and last week we had a visitor. Our new arrival was a guinea hen he just showed up one day last week and never left. Of coarse being a bird ( and every other stay critter ) lover I fed him put out some water and tried to catch him. BIG mistake I couldn't get within 10 feet of him ! These birds are fast, agile and they can fly very well so i learned. I am quite sure he is here to stay and I would like to get him a friend or two or three. I live in poultney Vt. and was wondering where I could find a local farm to purchase them. I dont know how old this bird is or if it is actually a male I am guessing that by the way he or she vocalizes according to a couple of articles i have read. I would assume that I want mature birds being this late in the year. If anyone could steer me in the right direction to purchase them or give me some pointers on do's and don't s of raising them it would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Don C
