Hey everyone... So Im building a New aviary.. Right now I have 2 Aviaries that are 10 X 20, and 5 Aviaries that are 10 X10, Im going to be moving and expanding my aviaries... I am building them behind my house... that way they are protected from the Northern breeze.

Im building..

1 - 30 X 40
2 - 20 X 40
1 - 80 X 44 - For the Tortoises, its cut into 4 sections but will have a net on top so I can have a few extra Pheasants in there
11 - 10 X 16
3 - 19 X 10
A chick Barn
A chick run, so the chicks can play, &
7 Parrot Cages.

The ones that will be done by march / April, will be the Tortoise pen, 8 Phesant pens, and the 3 larger pens. Please take a look, Enjoy. Then I have the rest of the year to finish the entire project. but im hopeing to have it complete by at least the End of May / June...

Awesome, makes me wish I hadn't sold my property with all the pens, barns and cage setups on it after my husband died in 1999. Didn't think I would ever want to have anything to do with chickens, geese, ducks, pheasants again, but the years mellow you and you go for what always pleased you most........my chickens. I enjoy my chickens and turkeys again, glad I decided to start raising them again. Our Old setup was something like what you are planing, we had it attached to the back of our house, easy access.

its one thing after an other... Its been a few weeks since I 1st started my Aviarys... I was able to move half of the Dirt to level out the pens, and worked all day. Then.. the rain started... I work Monday - Friday, so I can only work on the aviary during the weekends. Its been raining and raining. Then the sun comes out on Monday, but then the rain starts again on Thursday and Friday so I have mud during the weekend. UGH!!!!

So I finaly get a GREAT weekend this weekend... Tractors are filled with diesel, I woke up at 7am to begin all my feedings and start early to work on the land for my aviary... it still needs to be leveled out and filled with more dirt.

So My dad's Tractor is the one that digs and moves dirt, and my tactor is a leveler to level the land. We worked for a few hours moving dirt, and at about 11:15am... my dad's tractor, the tractor digging arm snaps its piston... and there goes the WHOLE day... I cant start my aviarys until all the dirt is added and leveled.. I still have to raise the pens about 3 feet worth of dirt... over an area of 60 X 150 feet... yes... thats alot of dirt.

So I will keep you posted. The Mechanic should be here Monday or tuesday to fix it... then I have to wait til next weekend to continue...
