So i just odered 50 purebred bantams grabbag avriety from meyers hatchery last friday. they were shipped today should be at the post office tuesday or wendsday. I have the brooders set up in the garage it is insulated but not cooled. I have a lttle window ac unit, but wondered if I should try and cool it? Outdoor temps are in the high 90's Also I am going just to put 60 watt bulbs in the lamps cause I am afraid if I used the big bulbs I will cook them? Please any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Just remember that you want to be able to control the temperature. If its over 95 degrees in your garage, you'll need some way to make it cooler or find another place for the brooder. You only need the heat lamp to make it warmer. I know its WAY hotter than 95 degrees in my garage in south Texas; I can barely breathe out there. If it were me, I'd find another place to put them.
