New babies due within a week..

We have 2 hens brooding together one Rhode Island red and one white silkie.. we are expecting them to begin hatching in a week or so. This is our first time with broodies and hatchlings...anything I need to do before they begin to hatch???we want to do everything we can to ensure they have the best start

I'd suggest keeping them separated, once they have chicks. It's possible that one momma will attack chicks that are not hers. You may wish to keep them separate until the hens have had enough of motherhood.
