The first two of our chicks are in the brooder! YAH!! I can't believe how FAST they grow.

Meet Alice, the GL Wyandotte

Charlotte, the Black Australorp

The GLW is the funniest chick! She acts real tough and bossy--even pecking at me through the side of the brooder (a clear plastic bin, eye-level with the computer desk), but when we try to talk to her or pick her up, she RUNS as far away from us as possible! We are trying to win her affection with treats!

My little girl runs too. However, I haven't really spent time with her yet. I'm waiting a couple days until she is settled in. I brought home a speckled Sussex last week, so it's her turn to be held.

. The other three(4 week olds) already love being held. I'm sure they like getting out of the brooder each chance they can get.
