New baby chicks today...she's looking very sleepy though!!!

I just got some babys this morning from a local feed store and one of them isn't looking so good. Looks very sleepy while the rest are running around like crazy. Gave her some sugar water, didn't seem to help. She falls asleep and one of her sisters jumps on her and wakes her up. Should I isolate her so she can rest? (they came from Ideal, long trip & cold from Texas to Pa.)

Yes, she sounds weak and will most likely get crushed if you don't seperate her for a bit. Give her a nice warm box withe plenty of feed(I like to make a wet mash for new chicks--it encourages eating to start) and access to water. I got this GREAT stuff called, "Nutri-drench." It's perfect for new chicks, especially ones that just shipped. Pedialyte for infants is also GREAT! Gives them electolytes and all the good stuff they need to get re-energized. Good luck!
