Hi, What is the absolute first thing you do when you bring your birds home? I'm thinking bring them right into the run, with coop open so they can check everything out and get used to things. Make food and water available to them , and just watch them to be sure they look OK. Is this the protocol? I know you have to let them stay in their enclosure for about 2 weeks, so they know where 'home' is, correct? I'll probably be out there with them all day, and checking on them constantly til I get used to them! Any other pointers? Thanks so much.

Since they're your first, then you don't have to worry about quarantining them...
Make sure that they're warm enough, especially if they're chicks.
Pick them up and hold them alot so that they get used to you.
