Yes. In the photo on the right I think the pullet on the right has the nicest type. I may be wrong, but the heads on the other two in that photo look funny to me.

Also, they're only 9 weeks old or so in those pictures. They're about 14 weeks now and seem to be molting.

you can cull for type pretty young.....but they take about 18 months to reach their full potential.....We have a roo from Sue and he grew out to be pretty nice.....really big guy.

Yeah, I should wait to see how they turn out then. All your kids are healthy little buggers. When I got them home you would think they'd been starved for days instead of a few hours. They ate so much they got crops that were just huge and deformed looking. They've settled in now though & I'm getting quite a kick out of them!

Thanks again to you & your hubby for toting them across state lines and smuggling them into your hotel room! How did you do at the show?

well, spring is a bad time for showing but we got BV with our SLW roo.....we mostly show call ducks....we got BV Butters, chocolate, Buff, Blue bibb, and got 1st with our white hen.

I love the Lucasville shows....and they feed us some pretty good lunch for free. Can't beat that!!!

The chicks actually ate all day long, they were only in that chick box for about 1 hour.....those wyandottes will eat you out of house and home.......really expensive to grow out a bunch of them.

one pen of 20 grow out wyandottes eat what all of our call ducks (about 80 breeders at the moment) eat in one day.....yup...need to get a job just to feed those bad boys......I tell everyone the chickens eat better than we do!!!

Oh I know - your husband said that they'd just eaten! That's why it was so darn comical - their hunger was so exaggerated. From the time we left Piketon it took about 2 1/2 hours to get home (picked up pizza on the way) and the little beasties looked like they were trying to get inside the feeder - silly things.

Was the SLW roo you took the one I see pictures of here & on your website? That boy is flat gorgeous & looks like he's built like a tank!
