I read. A lot. (should sleep more) There is nothing like reading a good book while watching your chickens romp in the yard.
I'm looking for recommendations for a great series. I primarily read mysteries and crime novels. My favorites include t C.J. Box's Joe Pickett series, J.A. Jance's Beaumont series & Brady series, John Lescroat's novels and Michael Connelly's Bosch series.
I read other genres also. I like almost everything Charlene Harris writes & I enjoyed Evanovich for a long while but Ms. Plum became a bit too predictable. Lol.
Any suggestions?

Not a series, but awhile back I read "Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Story" by Leonie Swann - I thought it was so creative and a really engaging read!
I looked it up & read the first three pages. I am definitely going to read this! Thank you Thymeforchickens (p.s. love your alias)

I read a lot also.
Have you read any Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child books?
Pretty darn good IMHO.
I don't think I have. I will try reading one soon. I just received seven books in the mail. We are having 100+ degree weather for the next two weeks ( poor chickens!) so I will be doing more reading and less yard work.

I've read everything mentioned here (except the sheep book) and like them all. I'm a pretty eclectic reader...
If you want to try something a bit different, "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" is very good.
As for series, one of my favorites is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I don't generally read romance, but this is much more than that, and truly is one of my all time favorites. First book in the series is "Outlander", I'm currently waiting for book 9 to come out.

I will look them up. I'm not much of a romance reader either but I'm willing to give it a try.

I don't know if you are interested in mythical books or not but I love the series Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. It is geared towards teenagers but is a very good read for adults too. I'm 36 and truly enjoyed all 5 books. And the author started another series that goes along with it called Dragonwatch. Let me know what you think!

I used to read a lot of scifi/fantasy when I was younger. One of my favorite series of all time was Tier World by Philip Jose Farmer.

I've only read some of the Special Agent Pendergast series, hope to get some more. I mostly just pick up what I find at used book stores.
