I didn't set out to breed, i just wanted eggs and chicks every now and then. But my little flock had other ideas.

My Easter Egger roo has crossed my D'Uccle hen.
And these are what i get.







The black and white splash ones are my Easter D'Uccles, lol, and the other 2 are just regular EEs. I love these little guys and thought i would share.

My EE is the roo and the hen is a bantam D'Uccle. She stays out of his way mostly but just enough where i get these beautiful chicks.

No. Splash is a double copy of the dilute gene for black. It will turn all the black feathers to a light grey or white. There won't be any black at all. Yours have black feathers. They look like a variation of silver partridge.

Imagine a pale grey chicken with random splashes of a darker grey splattered over it or maybe a little splash. It would not be black and white. Whatever you call these chicks, they will be pretty.

As a bonus, they may even lay blue/green eggs. That would be sweet!

That would definitely be sweet. I will keep the ones that do and maybe share the rest. lol
