I am a seasoned citizen who loves all birds and have raised even wild ones. I have a brother who is a veterinarian and as it happens, birds are NOT his thing so someone had to do it. I currently have two boy Pekins. I had chickens but as they create quite a bit of dust and I have asthma, I had to give up on getting more when those were gone. I did enjoy chicken TV while it lasted. We have one doxie who will not pester these ducks like she did the chickens. They are as big as she is. I am a duck grammy because my son got these two quackers on a whim and then had to move. I had a spot for them to stay and although they and my granddaughter adored each other, they have been quite content here. Jamie Duck still goes nuts over sparkly flip flops though. He thinks she has come to play if he sees anyone wearing them. He is a hot mess! My other duck is very sweet but he has problems oiling his feathers (has a long body and cannot reach his tail) so gets a blow dry after a bath. Doesn't seem to mind it. He also has a hurt leg at the moment and has to be mostly confined but gets attention several times a day. He eats and drinks well and takes his medicine and does love a swim. I have 4 grown children. One son is a duck papa. Another had a rooster follow him and ask to be taken home (Thank you Mr Officer, sir) but had to be rehomed due to his crowing in the neighborhood. My daughter and one of her daughters have chickens and a couple of ducks and horses, dogs and cats. We are a big happy animal family overall. (My anti-bird bro has cats) Oh well..
