It's been 40 years since I've been around chickens. I know how to handle the older hens, but my dad had the babies and I don't remember all the ins & outs of babies. Plus I was a teenager. I think they are about 3-4 weeks old, and have naked bellies. I have them on medicated water and chick starter. My question is when do they go outside? And I adopted an older hen, I don't know how old she is, she isn't laying eggs. Will she be ok with the youngsters?

:welcome

Hi, welcome back to keeping poultry! Generally the chicks can go out when they are fully feathered, what's your climate like? As for the older hen getting along with the younger, I'd give them all a chance to see each other but not touch (separate with a screen for example) for a couple of weeks before mixing them together.

Thanks for joining!
