New Castle Disease?

Has anybody been through new castle disease? I put up a ad on craigslist about getting a necropsy in Florida for one of my hens and a nice gentlemen emailed me back so I told him what was wrong with my chickens and he says the they might have new castle disease. Apparentley it will never leave because it will stay in the ground. Has anybody gone through this? Please pray that it is not new castle disease.

DH grew up on a chicken farm. Whenever a chicken here gets sick, DH says, "Oh it's Newcastle, our chickens used to get that and that is exactly how they looked."

IOW, I don't know if that's the case with your nice old man, but I suspect it was common to label any illness as "newcastles"!
