Before I jump to conclusions, I wanted to get some opinions.

I have a mixed bunch of pure bred chicks about 5 weeks old. One of the larger black/brown with feathered feet has something wrong. Crocked neck and does not straighten it. Does not walk in circles or necessarily fall down but definitely has something going on.

I have seen pigeons with paramyxovirus but it was always worse with a circling head and a drunken walk.

Thoughts?

I just noticed it this morning.

Thanks

It may be encephalomalacia (wry neck, crook neck,) which is a neurological symptom of vitamin deficiency. Wry neck can also be a sign of head injury, certain diseases such as Newcastles disease, Mareks disease, and some other respiratory diseases such as choryza and fowl cholera. Exotic Newcastles, the worst of 3 kinds is not found in the US. Treatment is to give vitamins (B1 or thiamine, vitamin E, and selenium) daily. Depending on the severity, they may need help eating and drinking, and keeping stimulation that worsen symptoms lower. Here are some links to read (the brown egg blue egg link has vitamin dosages):
