New chick Addition

Hey

‍ need some ideas on introducing a new chick(pullet)now 16weeks to the girls. We have raised this little one with a feather duster. Needless to say it’s been difficult each time we tried to let her get acquainted with her soon to be family.. We have had her in a smaller coop beside the large coop for at least a month, to get them use to her smell.. still the hens peck her and have attacked her ..

Hello, and welcome to BYC! How old are the other one's that you are trying to integrate that 16 week old pullet with?

Rosemary, is that the only chick you want to integrate into your flock? If you had 2 or 3 others about the same age & size, integration may go easier .Hopefully the older birds wouldn't concentrate on bullying just one.

Please use the search box to locate "Look but don't touch," method of integration. It's probably the kindest, gentlest way.
